Responding to Place - Managing Fear: Cikapundung Market, Bandung, Indonesia.

The hallways look deserted, but every corner feels alive. Every antiquity presented, from which is recorded the memory of the events of previous ownership. The memory recorded earlier I accidentally imagined being something scary. I assumed something was dwelling out of it.

As a timid person, for me, Cikapundung Antique Market which is my playground with the RAWS Syndicate (a photography collective based in Bandung, Indonesia) is a scary place, especially at night. A warm place to chat with friends, but also hold another experience of fear itself.

Through photography, I try to manage the fears I have. I circled the place at night. Questioning whether this fear is natural and the extent to which it can be managed.
