Kurnia Ngayuga Wibowo was born in 1997 in Cirebon, Indonesia. He is a mixed media artist whose artistic practice is rooted in photography and moving images.

Yuga’s use of mixed media stems from his interest in contradictions. He incorporates domestic objects as part of the physical body of his works, while photography and moving images are employed as representations of reality—realities he seeks to intervene with.

Over the past three years, Yuga has been conducting research on the paradoxical relationship between myth, history, and urban society in Cirebon. Through his work, he questions the position of society in interpreting myth and history within the context of contemporary life. He is also interested in social phenomena within the realm of visual culture.

In addition to his artistic practice, Yuga actively writes essays on photography, exploring the medium, its practices, and its ecosystem in Indonesia. His writings reflect an interest in the intersections between photography and everyday life, as well as questions surrounding its current relevance.

In 2022, Yuga was selected to participate in the Permata Youth Photostory photography workshop organized by PannaFoto Institute. His works have been presented in the Bandung Photography Triennale, Bandung Photography Month, and Indonesian Contemporary Art and Design (ICAD).
